Celebrating 29.... (part 1)
But, no complaints there as long as wisdom comes with age....
So, how did I spend my birthday today? (I will also be celebrating my birthday on Sunday, since Tuesday was a bad day for most of my friends in the department, thus the "part 1" in the title)
Well:
a)I brought again these really yummy cakes from Afroditi, which people in the department (and I) really enjoy
b)I attended a very interesting talk on gender in bound pronouns presented by a fellow Greek linguist...
c)I spent the evening with some of my friends by having dinner at Fire grill, a very good, but a little bit expensive steak place on Stanley.
So, many thanks to Andonis, Nora, Panayiotis, Victor, Nevena, baby Dionisio, Leo and Philippe who came and wished me "Happy Birthday".
Special thanks to Nora, who like every year, made me a birthday cake which most of us enjoyed (unfortunately Leo and Philippe could not come, but (as promised) I will be saving a piece for you guys!) later on, when we went to her place.
Finally, many thanks also to my friend Dimitra who called me from Greece to wish me "Χρόνια Πολλά" [xróɲa polá] (lit. 'many years') , to Raph (you shouldn't have done this, but thank you so much!!!) and to all the people and friends from the department today who (both in person or electronically) wished me a Happy Birthday. (... you will also have a second chance to do so on Sunday :D )
So.... that's all for now (and Raph, I think I understand now why you do it; it's so cool when you celebrate your birthday for an extended period of time!!!!)
Love you all, and hope to see you (again) on Sunday!!!
