Halloween Memoires

Yesterday did not start as one of my favourite days, but at least it ended as such. As I have often stated in this blog, I HATE RAIN, and we had a lot of that yesterday. In fact, I almost reconsidered my decision to go to Senhor and J. D. Horner' s spooky soirée, something I am glad I didn't.
So, I put on my sombrero, (because of the heavy rain, the Ancient Greek, toga-like costume option was rejected for practical reasons), got my Coronitas and after I endured blistering winds etc., I got to their place at around 8.00. On the way there I met up with Émile and Andria who also had to fight through the nasty weather.
But the night was rewarding in many ways. After all, it is always great to interact with the people from the department for other reasons (and not just school stuff). In fact, a lot of people showed, up; Joey, Heather, Moti, Mina, Marc, Syngirl (+4), Gus (+5), most of them in costumes, which was great considering the bad weather conditions.

Highlights of the night included:
  • Tarot card reading (courtesy of our psychic linguist Senhor-he is damn good-)
  • Movie watching (the Princess Bride and the all-time classic, Rocky Horror Picture show. Tobin and Joey took care of the audience participation. OMG, that was hilarious; but, thank God the kids were in the bedroom playing and did not listen to any of this!)
  • Playing the piano, drinking (btw, great punch, greater when vodka was added!), and of course making a fool out of ourselves.)

At around 1.00 am, people started leaving with Gus, his friends and me being the last. (I had to stay a bit longer because I wanted my cards read!!!)
Pictures were taken but not that many (I did not have the chance to take a picture of everyone) Anyway, here is the link:

I think everyone had a great time (I certainly did, and considering I am not generally fond of Halloween, that says a lot.) As the rain had stopped, I decided to walk home (after all, I live only one metro station away). So, I got home at around 3.00 only to realize that in fact it was 2.00 (Daylight Savings Time had finished). So, I had an extra hour of sleep.

Again, many thanks to Tobin and Josh who invited us over to their place and made sure we have a great time! (I just hope they didn't have to do a lot of cleaning today!)

What's next? Oh, yes! My birthday tomorrow). But that is another story....
